The 2018 American drama film "Leave No Trace" was directed by Debra Granik and written by Granik and Anne Rosellini. It was based on the 2009 novel "My Abandonment" by Peter Rock. Anne Harrison, Linda Reisman, and Anne Rosellini produced the film. Most of the movie production was arranged and fulfilled by Bron Studios and Topic Studios with cinematography by Michael McDonough, music by Dickon Hinchliffe, and editing by Jane Rizzo.

The plot follows a military veteran father with post-traumatic stress disorder (Ben Foster) who lives in the forest with his young daughter (Thomasin McKenzie), near beautiful nature reserve in Portland, Oregon. They rarely make contact with their outside world. But when a small mistake tips them off to authorities, they are sent on an increasingly erratic journey in search of a place to call their own (the novel itself was based on a true story).

The movie premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, and was theatrically released by Bleecker Street in the U.S. on June 29, 2018. The film received universal critical acclaim, with praise for the performances of Foster and McKenzie. It has become the most reviewed film to hold an approval rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
