However, as of May 2017, there is no scientific evidence that they are effective as a treatment for ADHD.

Something I learned over the years is that having something in my hands helped me focus better. Some people doodle, I had a slinky...I heard everything going on around me but was still able to focus on the problem I was trying to solve. I never had a fidget spinner but if they did for others what my slinky did for me then I say "go for it". And my boss was good with me using it because she knew how it worked.

As a substitute teacher, sometimes in sped classes, I was told to allow kids to use them, as they relieved stress for autistic children. But they really drove me crazy.

Dave Simmons, they also used to have beads you played with and it was said it was good for people who fidget a lot. I was one lol much better than smoking
