Lotus Cars is a British automotive company that manufactures sports cars and racing cars in its headquarters in Hethel, United Kingdom. Lotus cars include the Esprit, Elan, Europa, Elise, Exige, Evora and Evija sports cars and it had motor racing success with Team Lotus in Formula One.

Lotus Cars are based at the former site of RAF Hethel, a World War II airfield in Norfolk. The company designs and builds race and production automobiles of light weight and fine handling characteristics. It also owns the engineering consultancy firm Lotus Engineering, which has facilities in the United Kingdom, United States, China, and Malaysia.

There's also a Lotus computer package, similar to Word Perfect, Sage, things like that. That's what I was thinking of, not the Lotus car. But I DID get it correct because the computer package is NOT a computer manufacturer

Lotus does build automobiles, but I used to use Lotus software in the 1980's. Maybe you remember "Symphony?" Or "1,2,3"

Lotus was also a software manufacturer not just a car manufacturer. They were bought by IBM in 1995. Their primary product was Lotus Notes, also called Domino, but also had cc:Mail, Lotus 123, WordPro, and Freelance Graphics - competitors to Microsoft.

Kerry Garner, nothing happens except that you get a list of Indian retailers/repairers and one UK company that is in the consulting game. None of them are manufacturers in the true sense of the word. Unlike Acer, Lenovo, Apple, etc.

Cari G., please don’t tell that to my friend who works there! He’ll be very disappointed to find out that he’s not really a manufacturing engineer and that they’re not really building anything.
