Which of these sports is predominantly played by women?

Netball is a ball sport played by two teams of seven players. Netball is most popular in many Commonwealth nations, specifically in schools, and is predominantly played by women. According to the INF, netball is played by more than 20 million people in more than 80 countries. Major domestic leagues in the sport include the Netball Superleague in Great Britain, Suncorp Super Netball in Australia and the ANZ Premiership in New Zealand. Four major competitions take place internationally: the quadrennial World Netball Championships, the Commonwealth Games, and the yearly Quad Series and Fast5 Series. In 1995, netball became an International Olympic Committee recognised sport, but it has not been played at the Olympics.

Its development, derived from early versions of basketball, began in England in the 1890s. By 1960, international playing rules had been standardised for the game, and the International Federation of Netball and Women's Basketball (later renamed the International Netball Federation (INF)) was formed.

Great sport played mostly in British Commonwealth countries. Similar to Basketball but stepping whilst in possession of the ball is not allowed. Best teams are semi-professional. Vitality Netball World Cup 2019 teams were England, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, South Africa, and Malawi. New Zealand are current champions

Most women that I know, play Rugby League and nothing else. A very genteel ladylike game..

Christina Birnie, that is wrong. Basketball came first. Then netball. Because the women teachers wanted to let the girls play similar game but not as hard as Basketball.

James Webb, no it originated from Basketball at the same time they started to play Basketball. First game was in 1892. One year after the first Basketball game.

erik hughes, it is a sport. A very difficult sport with a lot of skills needed. Which you don't have.

erik hughes, think you'll find it's a Cue 'sport'... Plus they compete in competitions, and leagues therefore it's a sport as is pool, could say football (soccer) isnt a sport, it's a business... But it's still a sport whether you agree with it or not

Richard Rubright, Netball is similar to basketball although the rules, equipment and team numbers are different. There is no dribbling; no running with the ball; 7 players; ball passed within 3 seconds; ball & basket slightly smaller; no backboard; players designated to certain areas.
