Lugh, Somalia, East Africa has an annual mean recorded temperature of 88°F, putting it in second place.

In the United States the city normally having the highest annual average is Key West, Florida at 77.8°F. Key West also has the highest winter average at 70.2°F. The highest summer average goes to Death Valley, California at 98.2°F.

A reading of 136°F was observed at Azizia (at an elevation of about 380 ft) in what was known as Tripolitania, Libya, North Africa at that time, was recorded on September 13, 1922. This is generally accepted as the world's highest temperature recorded under standard conditions.
