The 2019 Rugby World Cup was the ninth edition of the Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's rugby union teams. It was hosted in Japan from 20 September to 2 November in 12 venues all across the country.

On 9 October 2019 Adams scored a hat-trick in a 29–17 win over Fiji. The win secured Wales's place in the quarter finals. Adams ended the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan as the top try-scorer for the competition with seven try's.

A try is a way of scoring points in rugby football. A try is scored by grounding the ball (the ball must be touching the player when coming into contact with the ground) in the opposition's in-goal area (on or behind the goal line).
