Niagara Falls is a group of three waterfalls at the southern end of Niagara Gorge, between the Canadian province of Ontario and the US state of New York.
Located on the Niagara River, which drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, the combined falls have the highest flow rate of any waterfall in North America that has a vertical drop of more than 50 meters (160 ft). During peak daytime tourist hours, more than 168,000 m3 (six million cubic feet) of water goes over the crest of the falls every minute. Horseshoe Falls is the most powerful waterfall in North America, as measured by flow rate.

We have a Niagara Falls here in New Zealand. It is right at the bottom of the South Island.The district is known as Niagara and it's on the map. The "falls" stretch across a small creek and are about 6 inches high. Some early settler with a sense of humour must have named them and it stuck.It's actually in an area well worth the visit. Nearby is Curio Bay where you can see the remains of a petrified forest and also Porpoise Bay,where you can actually surf with dolphins.Great place to visit

I was just there a few weeks ago while on a tour a the places I lived with my grandson. Did the Maid of the Mist boat tour. It was as thrilling as the first time back in the 1980s.

lls, I would too. My girlfriend from Bible School in Vancouver grew up there, and still lives there. I keep saying I'm going to visit her, if only to see Niagara and Niagara Falls
