Both actors appeared in the 1961 World War II adventure film "The Guns of Navarone" and the 1962 epic "Lawrence of Arabia". Anthony Quinn portrayed Greek resistance fighter Andrea Stavros and Anthony Quayle plays the part of Major Roy Franklin, leader of the force sent to Navarone. In "Lawrence of Arabia" Quayle portrayed Colonel Brighton, military liaison to the Arab Revolt during World War I, Quinn appeared as Auda abu Tayi, a Bedouin leader involved in the Arab Revolt.
