This 1941 Cadillac Series 62 is the convertible sedan body, the only year for a 4-door convertible for Cadillac and the only one amongst 400 built Cadillac's 1941 models. Harley Earl's design staff introduced substantially new bodies for '41 with distinctive new grilles for the first time without a vertical center element and instead of using dramatic, strong horizontal chrome elements that extended from fender-to-fender, subtle egg crate verticals, widened fenders with integrated headlights and fog lights, strong chrome hood side vents and triple chrome spears on the pontoon front fenders that no longer provided for side-mounted spares.

This Caddy moves around very well with the 346 V8 and 3-speed manual transmission. In 1941, the one-piece hood came down lower in the front, included the side panels, and extended sideways to the fenders. The rectangular grille was wide, vertical, and bulged forward in the middle. Rectangular parking lights were built into the top outer corners of the grille. Headlights were now built into the nose of the fenders, and provision for built-in accessory fog lights was provided under the headlights. Three chrome spears appeared on the rear section of all four fenders. Rear fender skirts were standard. This car is an excellent example of one of the most important design years in Cadillac history, enhanced by the adaptability and utility of the rare 4-door convertible sedan coachwork.
