Little Forrest (referred to in the film as Forrest Jr.) is a character in the "Forrest Gump" novel and film. He is the son of Forrest Gump and Jenny Curran and is played by the American actor Haley Joel Osment (born April 10, 1988) in the movie. The director of the movie, Robert Zemeckis, cast Osment to play Forrest Jr due to his role in a Pizza Hut commercial.

After a series of roles in television and film during the 1990s, Osment rose to fame as a prominent child actor for his performance as a young unwilling medium in M. Night Shyamalan's thriller film "The Sixth Sense", which earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

He afterward appeared in leading roles in several high-profile Hollywood films, including Steven Spielberg's "A.I. Artificial Intelligence", Mimi Leder's "Pay It Forward", and "Secondhand Lions", alongside Michael Caine and Robert Duvall. He played Davis Cable in "Last Stand at Saber River" alongside Tom Selleck in 1997.

Osment made his Broadway debut in 2008 in a short-lived revival of David Mamet's play "American Buffalo", starring John Leguizamo and Cedric the Entertainer. Osment is also known for his voice roles of Sora since 2002 at the age of 14 and Vanitas since 2010 in the "Kingdom Hearts" video games, as well as his later roles in comedies such as "Sex Ed" and "The Spoils of Babylon".
