Hideki Matsuyama (born 1992) is a Japanese professional golfer who is the first-ever Japanese professional golfer to win a men's major golf championship in the 2021 Masters Tournament. Matsuyama also had seven wins on the PGA (Professional Golfers' Association) Tour, making him the most successful Japanese member of the PGA Tour in history.

Matsuyama started playing professionally in 2013 and qualified for the PGA Tour the following year. Over the following years, Matsuyama rose up the Official World Golf Ranking, reaching 6th place in 2015. When Matsuyama won the Masters Tournament in 2021, he not only became the first Japanese player to win, but also the first Asian-born player.

The 2021 Masters Tournament was the 85th edition of the Masters Tournament. It was held from 8th to11th April 2021 at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, USA. The Masters is one of the four major championships in professional golf. It is usually played during the first full week of April, making it the first major of the year. Unlike the other golf tournaments, it is always held at the same location.
