Donatella Francesca Versace (5/2/1955, Reggio Calabria, Italy) is an Italian fashion designer, businesswoman, socialite, and model. She is the sister of the late fashion designer Gianni Versace (12/2/1946-7/15/1997), founder of the luxury fashion company Versace, of which she inherited a portion upon her brother's death in 1997. She sold the company to Capri Holdings (Michael Kors) in 2008, but remains the chief creative officer. In 2007, Versace apparel was worth $1.7 billion.

In the mid-70s, she studied literature and languages in Florence. She planned to work for Gianni in his public relations department, but, according to her, was more valuable to him as a "muse" and critic.

Donatella has designed advertising campaigns for Versace that include Madonna, Courtney Love, and Jonathan Rys Meyers among many more. She designed the Green Versace dress of Jennifer Lopez, which was worn by Lopez at the 42nd Grammy Awards in 2000. The dress had a market value of approximately $15,000 dollars.

Donatella has fought a cocaine addiction for 18 years and quit in 2005. A heavy smoker, she quit in 2014. She supposedly used tanning sessions to the point of being affected by premature skin cancer.

Lady Gaga wrote the song "Donatella" from her 2013 album "Artpop" for her. In 2018, she became the the first woman to be named Designer of the Year at the GQ (Gentleman's Quarterly Magazine) Awards in the UK and in China.
