The shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald in the U.S., the man accused of killing President John F. Kennedy, by Jack Ruby on November 24, 1963 was broadcast live on national television and is the first known human killing (murder) seen live on television.

Oswald was shot in Dallas, Texas, by nightclub owner Jack Ruby while being transferred to a county jail. Oswald was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital, the same hospital in which President Kennedy and Governor Connally had been treated two days before, but died within approximately two hours of being shot.
