George Lawrence Thorogood (2/24/1950 Wilmington, Delaware) is an American musician, singer and songwriter. His "high-energy boogie-blues" sound became a staple of 1980s rock radio, with hits like his original songs "Bad to the Bone" and "I Drink Alone". He helped popularize older songs by American icons, such as "Move it on Over" (by Hank Williams, 1947), "Who Do You Love?" (by Bo Diddy, 1956), and "House Rent Blues/One Bourbon One Scotch, One Beer" (recorded by Amos Milburn, 1953 and John Lee Hooker).

Thorogood and his band, The Delaware Destroyers genres include, hard rock, Blues rock and boogie rock and roll. Thorogood is not only a vocalist but he plays guitar and harmonica. Some of his associated acts include, John Lee Hooker 8/22/1912-6/21/2001, Elvin Bishop, Bo Diddy and Monkey Beat.

With his band, the Delaware Destroyers, Thorogood has released over twenty albums, of which two have become certified Platinum and six have been certified Gold. He has sold 15 million albums worldwide. Thorogood and band continue to tour extensively, and in 2014 the band celebrated their 40th anniversary of performing.

Thorogood has been a baseball fan for most of his life. He played semi-pro ball during the 1970s. In a 2011 'Guitar World' interview, he stated "I'm A Mets fan. There aren't many of us but you know, that's me".
