Donna Summer (December 31, 1948 – May 17, 2012) born LaDonna Adrian Gaines, was a famous American disco, pop and funk rock singer. Summer also was a fine painter: her abstract oil paintings were considered to be true post-impressionist masterpieces and were sold for a large amount of money. She was a true star of the 1970s disco era. She won five Grammy Awards and was the first singer to have three consecutive double albums reach No. 1 on the United States Billboard album chart and charted four number-one singles in the U.S. within a 12-month period. Donna Summer is one of the best-selling artists in the history of music. In 2013 she was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
