She was a recognized sex symbol of the 1950s and 1960s and was often referred to by her initials, B.B. Brigitte is widely considered one of the most charming, fascinating and beautiful actresses in history. She also was the first actress to become official face of Marianne, the national symbol of France. Before Bardot, all the models were anonymous.

Bardot was a promising ballerina in her early ages. She started acting in 1952 and began with appearing in 16 low-budget comedies. The 1957 film And God Created Woman made Brigitte famous and recognized worldwide.
