Ernestine Jane Geraldine Russell was born on the 21st of June, 1921 and became one of the main Hollywood's sex symbols of the middle of the 20th century. She debuted in the 1943 film The Outlaw, which became her breakthrough work and immediately turned her into a star.
In 1947 Jane delved into music before returning to the movies. In the fifties she starred in several movies, including His Kind of Woman (1951), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953), and The King and Four Queens (1956). Russel starred in more than 20 films throughout her fruitful career. Jane's foot- and hand-prints were immortalized in the forecourt of Grauman's Chinese Theatre. She also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
