Who made the sound for the first sound movie in the United States?
The first sound movie The Jazz Singer, released in October 1927, was a major hit, it was made with Vitaphone, which was at the time the leading brand of sound-on-disc technology. Sound-on-film, however, would soon become the standard for talking pictures.

Al Jolson sings in the 1st-ever Talkie "The Jazz Singer" . mpg. It was Warner Bros that took the 1st leap into the all-talking movie with the Jazz Singer in 1927. Though there are instances of sound being used earlier this film is the 1st feature-length motion-pic with synchronized dialogues. never says anything about Vita-Phone!!!

The Jazz Singer was the first feature-length movie with sound which was provided by Vitaphone. It was not the first movie with sound. Warner Brothers and others made them before the Jazz Singer. The question was too broad.
