In the early 20^th century, people were looking for new feelings and emotions. So it's no wonder that one of them decided to ring the changes – one should be surprised that he did it in such a genteel way. For sure, he was able to bring his idea to life and did it in style. More and more people started to join his team in order to rescue the national art of square dancing.

Funny thing about Henry Ford., he involved him self in the lives of his workers. He monitored his employees. To go so far as having a private police force. He made sure that they went to church, their drinking of alcoholic beverages was strictly forbidden and he mad sure that men didn't abuse their spouses.

As the "History of Square Dancing" explains: To understand how square dancing became a state-mandated means of celebrating Americana, it’s necessary to go back to Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motor Vehicles. Ford hated jazz; he hated the Charleston. He also really hated Jewish people, and believed that Jewish people invented jazz as part of a nefarious plot to corrupt the masses and take over the world—a theory that might come as a surprise to the black people who actually did invent it.

I used to love square dancing, prior to arthritis. My dad used to play guitar, my grandpa played fiddle, my uncle played banjo, and my great uncle called. The used to play for free in order to raise money for the local churches. The church ladies made pies to auction. It was always a great evening. Everybody in the family, all ages, could have fun together. I miss those good times.
