The singer, Tammi Terrell, joined forces with the remarkable Marvin Gaye to create some of the greatest love songs ever to emerge from Motown, a music company that was located in Detroit, Michigan. Sadly, Marvin and Tammi had their series of classic duets -- "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing," and "You're All I Need to Get By" among them -- come to an abrupt and tragic end with the premature death of Tammi. She died of brain cancer on March 16, 1970.

What an incredible duo they were. Their voices harmonized so well together. Such a tragedy for Tami to be taken at the young age of 24, and of course Marvin to be shot by his jealous father many years later. Two unbelievable talents gone too soon.
