Ben-Hur is a significant 1959 American epic historical drama film telling the story of Judah Ben-Hur, a wealthy prince of Jerusalem, who was played by Charlton Heston. The budget of the film (approximately $15 million) was the largest of any film produced at those times. After its premiere, the film became the second-highest grossing movie in history. Ben-Hur received 11 Oscars. This accomplishment was not equaled until Titanic in 1997.
