Who was King David`s son?
Solomon, also called Jedidiah, was, according to the Bible, a king of Israel and the son of David. The conventional dates of Solomon's reign are circa 970 to 931 BC. He is described as the third king of the United Monarchy, which would break apart into the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah shortly after his death. Following the split, his patrilineal descendants ruled over Judah alone.
According to the Talmud, Solomon is one of the 48 prophets. In the Qur'an, he is considered a major prophet, and Muslims generally refer to him by the Arabic variant Sulayman, son of David.

Jarrah Iluka, King David and his son Solomon were not myths. References to them occur in writings of other nations during the same time period. It is interesting to note that the Bible, written by so many people, is regarded by many as a collection of myths while other history, written by only one source is accepted. I recommend to anyone who thinks the Bible is mythical to read, Evidence That Demands A Verdict, by Josh McDowell.

Kath Thomson, I tend to accept the Biblical version of King David, though in Israel itself there apparently is no evidence he ever existed.

ibelieverom.623, I was surprised/enlightened in my Bib Studies in college, to learn that a major portion of the Old Testament is myth based. And those courses were taught by ordained ministers.
Of course, as these were Christian ministers, we were instructed that as far as the New Testament, that much of it is factual.
Decide for yourself: Is it easier to believe in Divine Conception than in Ganesha Chathurthi, a multi-limbed god of wisdom and good luck?

ibelieverom.623, you study outside the bible..the bible to me is the laws of old..until the Romans took it over then it went beyond Jesus and Mary Magdalenes movement.. It became a war motivator for Constitine when he found out how popular it was...he gave it to the romans who made it Catholic and Mary was distorted into what they wanted.. So it is Myth after they got ahold if it...the early part was History to a point.. This is a religion not by Jewish but by Romans.. It started out with Jesus and Mary who were a bit different than the Jews a newer version if you will. You need to read outside the bible to understand what I'm saying for the most part along with the learning times, actual seeing who Jesus and Mary were within, plus who was trying to kill Jesus, and how the other religions of the area saw him..as a great prophet
