James Michael Anderson (born 30 July 1982), usually known as Jimmy Anderson, is an English international cricketer who plays for Lancashire County Cricket Club and the England cricket team. Anderson is the all-time leading wicket-taker among fast bowlers and holds the record of most wickets for England in both Test and One-Day International (ODI) cricket. He is the only English bowler, and the 6th overall, to pass 500 Test wickets.

A right-arm pace bowler, Anderson made his international debut at the age of just 20, on England's 2002/03 tour of Australia. When he played his first ODI he had only played five senior matches. Anderson went on to feature in the 2003 ICC World Cup and made his Test match debut against Zimbabwe at Lord's the next summer.
