Woody Harrelson's father was an informal suspect. Of the handful of people who police took into custody immediately following the assassination, none have enjoyed as much notoriety as the infamous “three tramps"; three homeless, rail-riding hobo-types who happened to be in a box car beyond the grassy knoll at the time of the shooting. Suspicion grew when it was noted that the men were clean-shaven — so, in the minds of many, they must have been CIA. Never mind the fact that the men spent the prior night at a shelter, where they were privy to a shower and a shave.

For decades speculation over the identities of the three men ran the gamut, and it didn't help matters that Dallas police kept no records of who was detained. One of the names thrown around was Charles Harrelson, father of actor Woody Harrelson, a convicted assassin in his own right who was believed to bear a strong resemblance to one of the tramps. At one point, Harrelson contributed to the mess by claiming credit for killing JFK, but why anyone would for a moment believe a convicted killer is hard to comprehend.

Whatever the case, in 1988, Harrelson denied even being in Dallas in November 1963. Harrelson died in prison in 2007.
