The Seismiles Route runs through some Andes Mountains among the highest volcanoes on the planet, many of which exceed 6,000 meters (19,685.04 feet) altitude. That is the reason they are known as Los Seismiles.

The scenic route along Ruta de los Seismiles is a long and winding road through picturesque quasi-desert landscape. You'll pass mountain ranges in all manner of colors, sparse vegetation, and unusual wildlife in natural habitat. You can tackle the 200 km (124 mi) stretch in your own car. Animals frequently spotted along the route include groups of pink flamingoes, guanaca, and wild donkeys.

Penetrating the majesty of the Andes Mountain Range through a track, you reach a natural balcony from where you can see the snow-capped peaks of the Pissis Volcano and its lagoons. The mountain is the third-highest in the Western Hemisphere, and is located about 550 km (340 mi) north of Aconcagua. Due to its location in the Atacama Desert, the mountain has very dry conditions but there is an extensive glacier (with crevasses, which is unique in the region)
