Whatever is 'banned' in China is still available but not openly advertized. You can get Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. simply by getting a non-government controlled internet provider. Most Chinese have access to the all the world information. I know because i had internet via offshore provider.

Inuit or Eskimos have used 'sunglasses' for centuries. Printing? The written language has developed independently in various parts of the world for millennia, including Egyptian hieroglyphics, the Aztec codex, cuneiform, etc, etc.

I have visited China several times since 1984.I was not shepherded in travel groups and had ample opportunities to travel without guardians. I found them generally to be friendly and open, sometimes going out of their way to express their curiosity and hospitality to us barbarians.

You are wrong about Chinese only smiling and laughing with families. It is common to have Chinese smile and talk with strangers.

Just think what the World would be like. If President Harry Truman let General Douglas McArthur use a Nuclear Bomb on China during the Korean War.FYI President Truman Fired General McArthur for trying to do that. I personally think had that happen that would be one Less Enemy the United States has to worried about!!!

To really see how the Chinese were so far ahead of Europeans and Egyptians go to the National Museum in Taipei in Taiwan where all of China's vast artistic wealth is now having been taken there by the Kuomintang to escape from Mao Zedong' communist takeover. There is a room in the Museum which shows the relative "strengths" of the 3 civilisations (there is a 4th but I can't remember which it is) and the West and Egypt were way behind the Chinese as shown by this Story. However, come the Renaissance in Europe the West raced ahead and when it comes to the Arts (painting and Sculpture) the West is still miles ahead. It is a fascinating room
