What was the name of the Russian space program which meant "East"?
The Vostok (Russian: Восток, translated as East) was a type of spacecraft built by the Soviet Union. The first human spaceflight in history was accomplished on this spacecraft on April 12, 1961, by Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.

You weren't trying very hard. Simply Google, "how to say east in the russian language". The answer, Восток or Vostok, Voila!

Couldn't remember any other Russian space programs except Vostok and Mir which means Peace - so I chose Vostok!
