According to PsychCentral's Stages of Sleep, how long does it take the average person to fall asleep?
Alpha and Theta are the 2 stages that consist in "Stage 1" of sleep. We experience these when we are about to drift off to sleep. This includes a state of dreaminess, similar to daydreaming, however we are beginning to fall asleep. Research has shown that it takes the average person approximately 7 minutes to complete this stage and "fall asleep".
