There are over 2000 indigenous languages in Africa with Nigeria alone having more than 300 tribes with different and distinct dialects spread over its geographical location. Whilst the English language remains the dominant formal language of communication in most African countries, studies recently and surprisingly showed that Arabic is the other 'widely' used foreign language by most Africans due partly to the practise and acceptance of Islam by a majority of sub-saharan Africans.
