Can you name the author of Mahabharata, the great Indian Epic?
The Mahabharata is one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India. Another one is the Ramayana.The Mahabharata is an epic narrative of the Kurukshetra War and the fates of the Kaurava and the Pandava princes. Traditionally, the authorship of the Mahabharata is attributed to Vyasa. It is the longest epic poem ever known, which is also often described as "the longest poem ever written". The oldest survived parts of the text are thought to be not much older than around 400 BCE.

Gene Wilkerson, most people, in a country of 1.2 billion people, and several others in East Adrian countries where Hindu epics are known, all have heard of "this person". Many of the questions in Quiz Club are often so centered on American history and American sports, where the rest of us really have no clue about the people in the question/answer. We could very well ask the same, then; who on earth has heard of this person?
