Cinderella's castle was modeled after a real castle

The castle has been modeled after Bavaria’s Neuschwanstein Castle. The animated movie's castle was inspired by Neuschwanstein’s iconic dainty turrets and romantic views as the castle was built in a style called "castle romanticism".

Visited this in 2011. An amazing castle and region in Bavaria- Füssen-Germany. A lot like Disneyland castle.

Visited when stationed in Germany. Also the local town, Fussen. Both were used in the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang film.

I was fortunate enough to live in Germany for three years while my father was stationed there in the Navy. We visited this castle, as well as Ludwig's summer retreat, the Linderhof Palace and both were absolutely stunning!!

It's a beautiful castle, I visited it in 2018, Bavaria in general is stunning!

For all that the creator of these castles was mad, the structures are gorgeous. He gave posterity a wonderful gift.

Toured the 🏰 when I lived in Germany. It’s beautiful outside but ostentatious inside. Schloss Neuschwanstein was built as a retreat and in honor of Richard Wagner by Ludwig II. Before he could move into the Scloss, Ludwig II died.
