Did a well know duel between Alexander Hamilton & Aaron Burr cause the death of Hamilton?

This is hardly an awkward or obscure question and the answer was actually easy. What would have been obscure was if the question had been how did Alexander Hamilton's son die. He was also killed in a duel. What makes this a really easy question is that Aaron Burr was the Vice President of the United States at the time. Burr was also charged with murder, which is the only time a sitting VP has ever been charged with murder. It never reached trial.
