Estonian, the language of Estonia, is closely related to the official language of one of its neighbors. Which one is it?
Estonian belongs to the Finnic branch of the Uralic languages, along with Finnish, Karelian, and other nearby languages. The Uralic languages do not belong to the Indo-European languages. Estonian is distantly related to Hungarian and to the Sami languages.

An educated guess, mainly due to a cruise we once took which went from Finland to Estonia so reckoned the closeness of the countries could cause a similarity in the language
