What actress did Faye Dunaway portray in the 1981 film "Mommie Dearest"?
I saw the movie when I was a young girl. It gave insight from Joan Crawford's daughter, Christina Crawford, on how it was to live with the mega superstar. Her daughter wrote the book "Mommie Dearest" after her Mother died and left her children nothing. Faye Dunaway did an excellent job in her portrayal.

After that movie, my daughters - then teenagers - started teasingly calling me "Mommie Dearest" when I would enforce a rule or ask them do do an undesirable chore

I cannot even see a photograph of Joan Crawford without immediately thinking of "Mommie Dearest." That really deprives me of enjoying her acting performances, which is MY fault. EVERYBODY has his/her weaknesses, and even celebrities are not flawless. I try to remember that there, but for the Grace of God, go I.

Her daughter wasn't disinherited after the book, none of those poor children that Joan Crawford bought received anything from her estate. She used them as props, it is sad how easily children can be procured for celebrities.
