Four Corners is the only place in the country where a person can be in four different states simultaneously. It is located at the point at which Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona come together. There is a marker on the ground denoting the exact point.

Most of the area surrounding Four Corners is owned by American Indian nations including the Navajo, Hopi, Ute and Zuni.

A number of attractions worth visiting are in the area including Mesa Verde Pueblos and national park, Chaco Canyon and Canyon de Chelly National Monument. This area, known as the High Colorado Plateau, is rich in the history of some of the earliest American Indian cultures and Mexican heritage. Famous sites from the history of the American west can be found here also including the infamous town of Tombstone, AZ. Rare and unique plant and animal life can be found in this region as well.

Although there have been numerous squabbles over exact state boundaries over the past century, the final borders were established in 1912 and a concrete pad was laid to signify the point at which these four states share a common border. Today, visitors can experience the unique opportunity to touch four states at the same time.
