The Japanese archipelago consists of 6852 islands of which 430 are uninhibited. From north to south, five main islands are Sakhalin, Hokkaido, Honshu , Shikoku and Kyushu. Japan mainly lies between the sea of Japan in the west and Pacific ocean in the east. Situated on The Ring of Fire, these islands are prone to earthquakes through out the year.

Japan is also known as The Land of Rising Sun and in ancient times it was called The Sun Rise Kingdom.

People here mostly follow Buddhism and generally exhibit a deep sense of patriotism. That Japan is still one of the leaders of world economy, after suffering devastating losses in the World War II, including the twin atomic bombings in cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, is the proof of their resilience.
