On February 9th 1964, 73 million people gathered in front their TV sets to see The Beatles’ first live performance on U.S. soil. 60% of the televisions in the US were turned on and were tuned in to The Beatles on Ed Sullivan.

That performance on the Ed Sullivan Show was unforgettable. They sang five (5) songs that night. The opening song was “All My Loving".

The Beatles then followed that hit with Paul McCartney singing “Till There Was You”. They then they wrapped up the first set with “She Loves You .”

The hour-long Ed Sullivan Show broadcast concluded with The Beatles singing two more of their hits, “I Saw Her Standing There” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand.”

Many people can still recall where they were the night of the "British Invasion".

Although it was a black/white broadcast many thought those British guys not only have new songs, but they have a new look as well. Their impact on the music and culture of the 20th century is undeniable.
