How many toes does a normal cat have?

Just had to count both my cat's toes. They didn't appreciate me messing with their "piggies"!

my cat has blinded many dogs that though they could eat a cat on my land... kind of funny seeing a dog that needs a seeing eye dog (chuckle, chuckle...)

Hard one for me; I have polys. ;) But I got it right.

I don"t get close enough to cats. I am totally a dog person. But I guested right I knew they were odd.

I'll be darned. 18 is right, I was wrong. In rescue for over 15 years and and I never knew that. 5 on front and and 4 on the back. Glad to know...finally! Never too old to learn something new. LOL

Paws are different from toes/digits. Cats have paws and digits, like we have hands and feet plus digits.

Bull crap! The "5th" toe? in the front is not a toe at all and it does function as one either; it is a claw.

I have seen one big old farm cat that would hunt raccoons for fun as mice and rats weren't big enough and any raccoons that came onto it's property did not leave alive. I also had 2 cats that would harass the neighbors trained cop dog and get it too cower in the middle of the yard and all the cats had to do was sit on the fence after awhile.

I knew because each time my cat swatted my hand there were 5 claw marks and each time I play fought with him there were 8 claw marks on my forearm 4 per hind foot.

I have had cats thru the years! For one a cats front paws are not TOES! This was a sneaky question worded incorrectly!

Well I guess I should look at a cat more closely. I just assumed 4 toes for each paw. On the flip side of things, I really didn't do too badly. I was off only by just two toes.
