On August 24, 2007, Aimee Teegarden, who played Julie Taylor on "Friday Night Lights", posed Caitlin Upton, 17, South Carolina this question during the Miss Teen USA pageant: "Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?"

Upton's response was one of the legendary meltdowns in pageant history. Her convoluted response was filled with hems, haws, double talk and filled with references to Iraq and South Africa. The young woman was flustered beyond belief. The video went viral and Upton was the brunt of jokes from coast-to-coast.

Upton claimed she was overwhelmed by the question.

Fortunately, NBC's "Today Show" had Upton on as a guest, asked her the same question and she gave a fluent, intelligent, clear answer which drew applause from the show's hosts and crew.

Teegarden, who was also 17 at the time she was asked to be a judge in the pageant, starred on all five seasons of FNL as the daughter of football coach Eric Taylor and his wife, Tammy, who was the principal/counselor at the high schools in fictional Dillon, Texas.

Since FNL's series finale, Teegarden has starred in the sci-fi series "Star-Crossed" and played a supporting role in the ABC series "Notorious".
