It is true Cary Grant never won an Academy Award for Best Actor. He was nominated twice for the Academy Award for Best Actor: Penny Serenade (1941) and None but the Lonely Heart (1944). For his unique mastery of the art of screen acting with the respect and affection of his colleagues, Grant received a Honorary Academy Award in 1970. Frank Sinatra presented the Honorary Oscar to Grant at the 42nd Academy Awards.
Cary Grant lived from January 1904 until November 1986. He was 82 years old when he died from a cerebral hemorrhage.

Unfortunately yes. However, many we consider to be great actors do not win for Best Actors. There are only so many films each year with so many candidates.
