On the U.S. (ABC) 1970s TV drama series "Baretta", Robert Blake played the key Detective named Anthony Vincenzo Baretta. Baretta's pet bird was a sulphur-crested cockatoo named Fred. They lived in an apartment in the run-down King Edward Hotel in a bad part of the city.

When not out solving major crimes in New York City's 53rd precinct, Baretta would normally hang out at Ross's Billiard Academy.
