Missed it. There are no natural axis of evil. One creates what they project as evil from the eye of the beholder. Humans will find reasons to judge/demonize/hate others.

The invasion of Iraq for "weapons of mass destruction." Simply, was a cover-up to finish a job that President George H.W. Bush, started to get rid of Dictator Saddam Huessien. The mission wasn't quite accomplished by the father. President George W. Bush, reacted to his father's failure to do so, by invading Iraq for the second time, in capturing & putting the Dictator to death before his 70th birthday.

anthonygriffin, I have spoken to Marines who told me that there were definitely WMDs[weapons of mass destruction] in Iraq. Hussein himself published video of him with Scud missiles and other WMDs,so to say that they didn't exist is foolish. The Media actually reported briefly on a shipment of munitions including nuclear material which was shipped from Iraq to Libya to Oakridge,Tn [near where I live] to be processed. Watching and believing the Main street media leaves you at a deficit where truth is concerned.

anthonygriffin, not totally true. Iraq had chance after chance to comply with the UN inspectors and what it agreed to. There were weapons and to this day they are being used in places like Syria. Saddam knew we were coming and did all he could do to make us look foolish. Which he did. He got all the weapons except for a few out of the country. To say there were no WMD's is not true. To say the invasion was a cover-up would have required a lot of countries to be involved. Because many countries had the same intelligence about WMD's as we did.

I think that people are forgetting that the Middle East has been at war with itself for several millennia. That region is where jihad terrorists are allowed to grow their numbers, they attack other tribes with nerve gas, the IRAQI army invaded Kuwait, Christians are murdered for their faith and other harsh actions are dished out on women and non heterosexuals. They can't get along with each other or the west. Chemical weapons don't just appear and disappear. Someone is making them, using them and moving/hiding them. American policy has made many wrong moves in the last 50 years, but Americans are not the real problem over there. Political and economic reasoning has been a driving reason for us getting so involved. Unfortunately we have been involved in several conflicts there that other neighbor nations should have been able to deal with, but they don't. Once there we stay to provide some stability and when we leave they frequently go right back to tribal posturing and attacking whomever they deem lesser. The Kurds are a recent example. That section of the world has some very serious issues and complex problems. Our western way of thinking in borders and political solutions just doesn't work for the area. That area sees solutions like the eradication of an opposing group as a reasonable solution to a disagreement. What are they fighting over? Long standing traditional hatred of each other. We can't fix their underlying issues, but we sure can make it clear that they need to keep contained to that corner of the world.

L Lh Adams, even Bush himself has publicly stated he was wrong about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction. He apologized for declaring the war. After he was no longer president, of course.

Saddam used chemical weapons on the Kurds in the 1980’s. That’s known. Where did they go?? Syria?? Still buried out in the desert?? Did he destroy them out of the goodness in his heart??? I seriously doubt that!!
