The character of Santa Claus is based on which saint?
Have you ever heard about St. Nicholas? He was a Bishop who lived in the 4th century AD in a place now called Turkey. He was born in a very rich family, yet he was unspoiled creature and had a heart of gold. He has always been helping the poor and he still does! He is considered the Father of the gift-giving tradition.
Today we know him as Father Christmas, Kris Kringle and, finally, Santa Claus.

Janice Lea Vanlandingham, we know more about that than you christians know about Jesus. Because you still believe Jesus was born on Christmas day. He wasn't. The dog on my profile pic is born on Christmas day, but Jesus was not.

filmnut, jesus was not born in Christmas and not the year some think. If he had been born that year there would have been no threat against him. Herodes was dead since years. So Jesus was born much earlier, and in spring or early summer. The clothes they wear say itbis not winter. Winter is cold even there.
