Turmeric is a spice famous and loved worldwide. Long time ago, when Marco Polo brought the Asian spices to Europe, Europeans fell in love with these botanical treasures. Spices were even rarer and more highly-prized than precious metals and beautiful jewels. Turmeric has always been one of the favorites, and was even called "the spice of life". It is also often referred to as "the golden spice of India".
