The names of the two Muppet characters that heckle other cast members from their balcony seats are Statler and Waldorf. These two elderly and grouchy gentlemen constantly heckle other Muppets from their audience seats. They like to locate themselves in an upper balcony box on "The Muppet Show".

They were named Statler and Waldorf after two New York City hotels; the Statler Hilton and the Waldorf-Astoria. In 1975 they debuted on TV in "The Muppet Show" on an episode titled 'Sex and Violence'. Their character predispositions and personae were created by Jim Henson and Bonnie Erickson.

I remember taking our oldest daughter to a Muppet movie, years ago, it was so bad and boring we both fell asleep during the movie!

Jaminator, apparently, season 1 is (or was) available on Amazon Prime. The Muppets (the characters, not the show) were bought by Disney in 2004. One of the problems is "The Muppet Show" used a lot of stock and licensed movie footage, which they would have to pay for if they were to air it, and there's just not a lot of interest in it from the top in re-licensing it. You could start a write-in campaign for Disney+, but it would take a lot of signatures, especially from people who currently subscribe to it.

Lydia Coutts, they could simply re-run the series....I doubt many would remember the original well enough to complain. It was great fun for the little 'uns.
