What is a mawashi in sumo?
The sportsmen wear the belt during the competitions. It is really long (30 ft), wide and heavy so a sportsman has to wrap it several times. The interesting fact is that the belt is not always white as we imagine it – it can be of various colors.
What are your thoughts on this subject?

David de Tremaudan, an obi is the sash worn with a kimono. or a belt worn with the uniform for martial arts.

I was thinking along the lines of washi tape that we use for crafting. Not too far off given the options. Always hoping their gear will stay on.
