What is happening in the photo below?
The men in the picture are W. H. Murphy, the inventor of bulletproof vest, and his assistant. In 1923 a light weight vest was manufactured by Protective Garment Corporation of New York. A special live demonstration for the police was held that year in DC, and W. H. Murphy took two slugs to the chest to prove the effectiveness of his invention. As eye witnesses claimed W. H. Murphy “didn’t bat an eye” during the demonstration.

Make no mistake, the bulletproof vest was invented because we are a capitalist country and thus there is a profit to be made by private enterprise. If we were a socialist nation there would still be no bulletproof vests!! Do you agree BERNIE!!
