What is the original name of The Who band?
One of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century was formed in 1964. Actually, it developed from an earlier band known as The Detours. In 1964, the band claimed themselves as part of the pop art and mod movements. They were destroying guitars and drums on stage, thus becoming known as the true "rebels" of the epoch. I did see The Who perform and Roger Daultry perform. They were always one of my favorite bands. Every now and then I see Johnny Rock post a direct quote from The Who.

They were a lot more dramatic to watch than other bands at that time and their music was more creative and original when they got popular. Didn't really like their destructiveness, but it was very dramatic.

The question asked for the ORIGINAL that is the first name that they were known by. That was The Detours which then became The High Numbers.
So The High Numbers is not the correct answer!

The Who was also The High Numbers. That's why on of their albums was named, "The Who By Numbers". The song "Squeeze Box", was on it.

The original name was the Confederates, take this from a Who fan. They also had the names The High Numbers and The Detours. Not much research done for this one
