Ireland does not have a national flower. However, the shamrock is a registered trademark of the Republic of Ireland and is also the unofficial national flower of both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Despite its unofficial status, and the fact that many people do not consider the clover a flower, the floral industry usually designates it as the Republic of Ireland's national flower while the British government also calls it the national flower for their Northern Ireland territory on British prime minister's website.

Johanna Gorr, you should do a little bit of research first... shamrock plant (Oxalis regnellii) is a small specimen, often reaching no more than 6 inches. Leaves are in a range of shades and delicate flowers bloom off and on during fall, winter and spring. Leaves are clover shaped and some think the plant brings good luck.

This may be true, but the Shamrock itself, which is a type of clover, is not itself a flower.
So, technically speaking, you are correct, it does indeed flower, but the Shamrock is not a flower, in and of itself.
It's a bit akin to saying an orange blossom tree or a cherry blossom tree is a flower.
Orange blossoms/cherry blossoms flower on those trees, true, but the tree itself is not a flower.
It's a tree.🙂
