What percentage of pet owners admit to dressing up their pets?

According to recent surveys on rover.com 45% of pet owners admit to dressing their pets up! The holidays can get all of us a little festive or the occasion of family pictures, but according to the RSPCA outfits can leave animals feeling scared and confused.

They also state that some people could be prosecuted under the Animal Welfare Act if costumes are harmful for the animal. In particularly, dogs use various signals and body language to tell us what they're feeling. If we start to cover those areas up it makes it very difficult for them to communicate with us and other animals.

People that dress their pets should not be allowed to have pets. It is harmful. I was walking with one of aunt's husbands once when I was young...a person walked by carrying their little dog. My uncle looked down at me and said "if a dog can't walk, I'd shoot it"...I was young enough to agree...fortunately, the people that ended up raising me were good people...then, i became a hippy...after the army....

Which surveys? And when and where were they done? All the reference gives us is a list of popular dog names in 2018! All in all, a very poor question and a woeful explanation!

As a child I tried to dress up an unneutered tomcat in my doll's dress. I was rewarded for my efforts with multiple scratches! I've owned numerous cats and dogs in my lifetime, and I've never dressed any of my pets up since that initial attempt!

Ralph Ciasullo, actually not 45 % of dog owners dress them up. Some do it for special occations. Only fools do it all the time. With dress up i mean clothes or collars with jewels and things.i have unfriended a few ones because they did, and thought that i didn't cared about my dog because i didn't dressed him up.
